My Faith

As a child our home was was right next door to the church, which as a family we attended at least three times every Sunday. This included Sunday school and boys choir..

Today in our library I can find numerous books and Bibles that I received as prizes for perfect attendance.

Yet , it was not until my mid 30’s that I was able to grasp the significance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. With that understanding came an acceptance of Christ as my personal saviour and friend.

This dramatic change became and continues to be part of my daily walk in all that I do with my life.

God has a perfect plan for my life and although I don’t always see clearly or do as I see, I am learning to trust His direction.

I’m trying to seek Him first in all that I do. I once recall kneeling at the alter( Mercy Seat) seeking God’s forgiveness.

I remember thinking that if I spent half the time in reading His Word as I do in reading fly fishing magazines and articles my life would be more at peace.

In Isa 26 :3 it says:

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace who’s mind is stayed on Thee”

There is no question that, my relationship with Christ is 1st and then all the other passions like fly fishing and photography will fall into proper perspective.

Some day soon Ill tell you the reality of that relationship that became ever so personal while steelhead fishing on the Vedder River in British Columbia.
