Gros Morne landscape tells the story of the earth’s transformation.
The pink quartzite “tabletop ” mountain once formed the shoreline and continental shelf of the ancient ocean.
UNESCO designated Gros Morne a World Heritage Site in 1987. The park along with several key points of interest-including L’Anse Aux Meadows, the site of first Viking settlement in North America over 1000 years ago were longtime desires on my picture taking agenda. The trip started in North Sydney with a ferry trip to Port aux Basques, then up the coast to Cornerbrook, Rocky Harbour,Port aux Choix, L’Anse aux Meadows, St. Anthony and then back down to the quaint fishing village of Rose Blanche. Trust you realize something of the awesome beauty of God’s creation.
